The mega polis of Karachi is the largest agglomeration of Pakistan. This unique position of Karachi in comparison to other cities of Pakistan and Sindh has pros and cons for the city its self, Pakistan and Sindh. Today, the significance of Karachi in Pakistan and especially Sindh has become evident through studies and evidence. Currently the Government of Sindh depends entirely on the resources generated by Karachi. Other than Karachi there is hardly any economic activity that can support of keep government of Sindh floating. In the wake of the situation it has become imperative to ponder upon the dynamic relation of Karachi to the province of Sindh. The relation has not always been an exultant one. In the subsequent research effort the political state of affair of Karachi has been discussed specifically in comparison to rest of Sindh along with historically, how Karachi has acquired this position. The changing political orientation of Karachi is also an important part of this research.
